Tender Manager

[, India] | 2025-11-05 10:09am

Description:

The Role:

The Tender Manager will oversee the entire tender process — from identifying opportunities to coordinating, writing, and submitting responses. They will manage around 30 major tenders each year, often complex, multi-section documents exceeding 200 pages.

As many of our products are new, there is limited pre-existing collateral. The Tender Manager will therefore work closely with the Product Management and Customer Success teams to ensure responses accurately reflect current capabilities. Over time, they will build and maintain a comprehensive library of reusable responses, templates, and standard documents to streamline future submissions and improve consistency and quality.

The tender team will also make use of AI tools to support content generation, knowledge management, and response structuring, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement. The Tender Manager will guide how these tools are used effectively within the workflow.

This role also involves setting up best practices, defining workflows, and later hiring and mentoring additional team members to expand the tender function in India.

The Work:

Tenders are typically issued by research-intensive universities, health research networks, and government organisations. Submissions must clearly express value: sector specialist solutions, compliance, data sovereignty, scalability, and customer partnership.

Tenders include a mix of technical requirements, compliance schedules (ISO 27001, data protection, hosting), and narrative sections on implementation, support, and service delivery. The work requires meticulous organisation, excellent writing, and confident coordination across multiple teams and time zones.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills – able to convey complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Strong project management – able to manage multiple tenders, deadlines, and stakeholders concurrently
  • Organisational discipline – setting up structured processes, version control, and document libraries
  • Collaboration – working effectively across teams, regions, and time zones
  • Commercial awareness – understanding how institutions evaluate suppliers and tailoring responses accordingly
  • Experience in large or enterprise organisations with formal tendering and documentation practices
  • Leadership potential – capable of building, mentoring, and managing a future tender team in India
  • Comfortable adopting and using AI tools to improve efficiency and output quality
