Function: Strategic Mining Development
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Lead the planning, development, and execution of major mining projects from concept to completion. The Project Director ensures strategic alignment with corporate objectives, drives operational excellence, and delivers sustainable long-term value. The role requires exceptional leadership, technicaldepth, and stakeholder management to deliver large-scale, high-impact projects within Oman’s mining and industrial development landscape.
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans covering concept, design, construction, and execution stages.
Lead feasibility and pre-feasibility studies assessing technical, financial, and sustainability aspects.
Provide strategic updates and recommendations to executive leadership to support informed decision-making.
Oversee execution of multiple projects, ensuring delivery within approved budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Implement advanced project management systems for progress tracking, cost control, and reporting.
Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and operations teams to resolve project challenges effectively.
Build strong relationships with government authorities, investors, contractors, and community representatives.
Ensure transparent communication and timely engagement with all internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and mentor a multidisciplinary team, promoting collaboration and accountability.
Foster a culture of integrity, safety, and continuous improvement across all project teams.
Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and operational risks across all project stages.
Ensure compliance with HSE, legal, and regulatory standards at every phase.
Integrate lessons learned and best practices into project management frameworks.
Stay current with global mining innovations and technological advancements.

External: Government and regulatory entities, investors, EPCM partners, and community stakeholders
Level of Interaction: High – strategic and operational engagement
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field
Master’s in Management, Mineral Economics, or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 15 years’ progressive experience managing large-scale mining or industrial projects
Demonstrated success delivering end-to-end major capital projects
Expertise in project planning, scheduling, and cost control
Strong financial management and contract administration capabilities
In-depth understanding of mining operations, EPC/EPCM models, and regulatory frameworks
Visionary leadership and entrepreneurial thinking
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Ability to lead diverse, multicultural teams toward shared goals
