Experience

Skill/Knowledge
  • Proven experience supporting utility-scale solar, wind, or hybrid energy projects from development through construction.
  • Proficiency in cost management tools such as SAP, Oracle, PRISM, and MS Excel, as well as project scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • In-depth understanding of cost structures within EPC contracts and renewable energy project delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with local regulations, tax structures, and procurement practices relevant to renewable energy projects.

Job Description

Cost Estimation:

  • Prepare detailed capital cost estimates for renewable energy projects, including EPC, development, permitting, interconnection, contingency, and indirect costs.
  • Develop cost baselines and budgets based on feasibility studies, market benchmarks, supplier quotations, and engineering inputs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to refine estimates and validate assumptions. Maintain and update a cost database for benchmarking purposes across technologies and geographies.
  • Support bid evaluation and commercial negotiation by providing cost breakdowns and sensitivity analyses.

Cost Control:

  • Monitor project expenditures and commitments against approved budgets using cost control software or spreadsheets.
  • Track and analyze cost variances, identify risks or trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct monthly cost forecasting and cash flow projections in coordination with finance and project management. Review and validate contractor and supplier invoices and change orders to ensure cost compliance.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, investors, and lenders.
  • Ensure compliance with project control standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.

General Support:

  • Interface with finance, procurement, legal, and engineering teams to align financial tracking with contracts and technical scope.
  • Assist with the development of financial models and investment cases by providing accurate cost inputs.
  • Participate in risk and contingency assessments and update cost baselines accordingly.
