Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel with expertise in energy sector law in Oman, particularly in relation to electricity market regulation, tariff structures, and project-level agreements. The role focuses on legal support for the development and operation of renewable energy assets, including oversight of regulatory processes and review of key contractual frameworks for electricity generation and sale. The Legal Counsel will work closely with the Company’s project development team, providing legal support across all phases of energy projects execution.
- Advising on licensing and compliance matters under Omani electricity laws and regulations.
- Supporting interactions with sector regulators on approvals, filings, and regulatory interpretations.
- Liaising with electricity market stakeholders on matters related to project implementation, grid access, and capacity procurement.
- Reviewing and negotiating Asset Lease Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, and related project documents.
- Providing legal insight on electricity tariff structures, subsidy frameworks, and sector pricing mechanisms.
- Broader legal responsibilities may be assigned depending on the candidate’s profile and company needs.
